12 ounces sweet or hot sausage links, casings removed, or bulk sausage
2 teaspoons minced garlic
Cook for 5 minutes, stirring to break up the meat. Stir in:
1/2 cup dry unseasoned breadcrumbs or fresh unseasoned breadcrumbs
1/4 cup chopped roasted red peppers or pimientos
3 tablespoons minced fresh parsley
Prepare Mushrooms Stuffed with Breadcrumbs and Herbs, discarding the mushroom stems and substituting the sausage mixture for the mushroom filling. Sprinkle with cheese and bake as directed.
